CDE Section numbers…what do they mean?

What are FS, FX, US, UX, UY section numbers?

The “S’ courses:
FS and US are SEMESTER, PRINT-BASED courses. The “F’ designates the section for students who are local to the UAF campus. The “U’ designates the section for students who are non-local to Fairbanks.

The “X’ courses:
FX and UX are SEMESTER, ONLINE courses. The “F’ designates the section for students who are local to the UAF campus. The “U’ designates the section for students who are non-local to Fairbanks.

Students enrolled in the “F’ sections will pay on-campus fees. They need to purchase their books and materials at the CDE bookstrore.

Students enrolled in the “U’ sections are exempt from on-campus fee and will receive their books and materials automatically upon registration. Material fees are charged with their registration.

The “UY’ courses:
UY1 — UY7 are a YEAR-LONG, PRINT-BASED courses.
UYA — UYZ are YEAR-LONG, ONLINE courses.

All students are exempt from on-campus fees and receive their books and materials upon registration. Material fees are collected with registration fees.
